NEWS- Neolithic site in Assam’s Dima hasao district.

  • Location – Langting-Mupa Reserve Forest, Daojali Hading, Assam.
  • Findings- both domestic artefacts and early metallurgical activity. 
  • reaffirmed its status as a Neolithic habitation site over 2,700 years old.
  • About Neolithic Age
      • 9000BCE to 3000BCE (Final stage of Stone Age)
      • Key features– Agriculture(wheat, barley, rice, millet),

Domestication(cattle, sheep, goat), polished tools .

NEWS- 800-Year-Old Pandya Era Shiva Temple Unearthed in Tamil Nadu.

  • Location– Udampatti village, Madurai District, Tamil Nadu.
  • Era- later Pandya period (circa 13th century CE)
  • Inscription date– 1217-1218 CE
  • Ruler – Maravarman Sundara Pandya.
  • Temple name– Thennavanisvaram.
  • Ancient village name – Attur.
  • Key findings – inscriptions detailing land and waterbody sale for temple maintenance.
  • Importance – Temple was financially independent; offers insights into ancient society.

NEWS – Shah launches BBA initiative to free governance from ‘foreign language influence’

  • Initiative – to promote local languages in governance and reduce foreign language (English) influence.
